Classes For Queens Birthday Public Holiday 14th June 2010
9am Hatha & 5pm Vinyasa.
Most classes are one hour in duration except 5pm classes Saturday & Sunday, these two classes are 90 minutes.
At Mantra Yoga we bring you a comprehensive and balanced practice by combining Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa and Pilates. There is a focus on the lower body in the Hatha Yoga. A stronger focus on the upper body with Vinyasa. The Pilates has a focus on core strength.
Both types of Yoga are practiced in a warmed room to soften muscles to allowing deeper stretch and reduce muscle soreness after class, helping you detox through sweating and increasing T cell production. The warmth improves the circulatory and cardio vascular systems by elevating the heart. Warm muscles burn fat more effectively.
In keeping with the Hatha Yoga tradition this series of Hatha Yoga postures, with its rest poses between each posture, is designed to systematically cleanse, strengthen & heal your whole body. The sequence builds your bone & muscle strength, increases your flexibility, works your cardiovascular, respiratory, glandular systems & calms the mind.
We move progressively deeper into all the systems of the body with the focus on working on the spine, the abdominal muscles, the digestive, reproductive & endocrine systems. Your body is brought into a state of potential healing & you leave the class feeling energized & relaxed.
A series of postures incorporating a sun salutation practiced in a dynamic flowing style, linking postures & counter postures with a focus on linking breath with movement. Working strongly & steadily, harmonizing body, breath & mind while moving to inner stillness. Having the same benefits as the Hatha Yoga series but working more strongly with the cardio pulmonary systems.

Mantra pilates is a modern pilates consisting of a series of controlled movements engaging your body & mind. Helping anybody, without building bulk, to gain flexibility & strength while achieving a calm peaceful mind. Pilates is one of the few fitness exercises that uses fewer, more precise movements that require proper control & form working strongly with a neutral spine & proper breathing. Through pilates you develop a relationship with your pelvic floor & core muscles, helping you recover from injuries & reducing the risk of future injuries.
